The second large whirling machine, valued at €1.8 million, has arrived at the SEEPEX production facility in Bottrop, Germany. It machines all kinds of steel to make the various rotor sizes from the extensive SEEPEX pump portfolio. The machine was designed and built in accordance with SEEPEX’s specifications and produces rotors from high-strength stainless steels with exceptional dimensional precision and surface quality, which corresponds to our high quality standards.
A rotor is the key component of a progressive cavity pump. The new machine can produce rotors with a diameter between 30-360 mm and a maximum length of 8 m. The 17 meter long, 45 metric ton machine also comes equipped with state-of-the-art control technology.
The enormously high-performance design of the new whirling machine enables SEEPEX to fulfill the individual requirements of customers worldwide in the quickest time possible.
Stefan Bender, SEEPEX’s Production Manager, explains: “The delivery of the second whirling machine means we will be extremely well placed in the future to manufacture excellent rotors of the very highest quality.”
The first whirling machine, valued at over €1 million, was commissioned in April 2016. It can produce rotors with a diameter of just 10 mm and a length of up to 2 meters. Overall, SEEPEX has invested over €4 million in the modernization of the machinery pool at its Bottrop location over the last two years.
